Olive Point headland on Middle Island's northern shore offers a pristine fringing reef snorkel experience within the Keppel Bay Islands, part of the Southern Great Barrier Reef. This national park site features vibrant hard and soft coral gardens teeming with reef fish, turtles, and anemones just off the headland. The point's exposed position means clearer water and diverse marine life compared to sheltered bays, with the reef dropping off into deeper channels. Accessible only by boat, it rewards explorers with a wild, uncrowded snorkel setting away from the main tourist routes.
