Snorkellers explore a rugged reef terrace with crevices, overhangs, swim-throughs, and dense kelp forests. Depth ranges from 3 to 6 metres inside Middle Reef, reaching 14 metres further out. The breakwater lights provide easy orientation even on night snorkels. Conditions demand respect — this is the Southern Ocean, and surge and swell can build quickly.
