Ocean Safari offers an exhilarating 25-minute ride from Cape Tribulation beach to the outer Great Barrier Reef, visiting two spectacular snorkel sites at Mackay Reef and Undine Reef. This half-day eco-tour departs from the Daintree coast, where the ancient rainforest meets the reef — two World Heritage areas side by side. The small-group vessel (max 25 passengers) provides an intimate experience over pristine coral gardens teeming with sea turtles, tropical fish, eagle rays, giant clams, and starfish. The tour includes courtesy pickups from Cape Tribulation accommodation and is Advanced Eco Accredited.

Moderate risk: Marine Stingers
Stinger season (box jellyfish and Irukandji) along the north Queensland coast. Stinger suits are typically provided by the operator.
Low risk: Daintree Ferry Queue
The Daintree River Ferry crossing can have significant queues, especially during peak season (July-September), adding 60+ minutes to travel time.
Low risk: Fast Boat Ride
The 25-minute ride is on a fast rigid inflatable boat (700hp) — can be bumpy in choppy conditions.
Low risk: Changing Ocean Conditions
Outer reef conditions can change rapidly with wind and swell, affecting snorkel safety.
Low risk: Intense Sun Exposure
Sun exposure is extreme on the open water reef platforms. Bring reef-safe sunscreen and cover up.
