Tucked below the crumbling Cape Dombey Obelisk on the Limestone Coast, Obelisk Cove is a secluded rocky pocket accessed via the Obelisk Cliff track. Snorkellers navigate around limestone boulders and ledges into crystal-clear waters where the rugged cliff scenery meets the Southern Ocean swell. The track winds along the clifftop past blowholes and weathered rock formations before dropping down to hidden coves protected from the prevailing winds — a wild, dramatic setting for experienced water-goers.

Know before you go

Logged by the community, confirmed by mods

  • High risk: Coastal cliff collapse

The obelisk and surrounding cliffs are actively eroding; unstable rockfalls can occur without warning.

  • Moderate risk: Southern Ocean swell

Exposed to open-ocean swells that can produce strong surge conditions around the rocky cove.

  • Low risk: Slippery limestone rocks

Limestone ledges and boulders are extremely slippery when wet, especially on the track descent.

  • Low risk: Changing tides

Tidal changes can affect cove access and water depth around rocky entry points.
