Nudibranch Park, also known as Barolin Rocks, is one of Queensland's best shore-dive and snorkel sites, located along Woongarra Scenic Drive in Bargara within the Woongarra Marine Park. This rocky headland terrain features shallow reef platforms, beach rock pools, and a rocky topography that provides solid grounding for vibrant hard and soft corals. Accessible directly from the beach, snorkelers can explore depths ranging from 5 to 12 metres and encounter an abundance of marine life right off shore. The park is especially famous for its colourful nudibranchs, which give the site its name, alongside schools of reef fish, rays, turtles, and wobbegong sharks resting among the rocks.

Moderate risk: Strong shore break and swell
Southeasterly swells can create a powerful shore break, making entry and exit tricky on rough days.
Moderate risk: Stinging marine stingers (Nov–May)
Box jellyfish and Irukandji may be present in warmer months. Wear a stinger suit.
Moderate risk: Marine stingers
Box jellyfish and other stingers may be present in warmer months.
Moderate risk: Slippery volcanic rock entry
Sharp, loose basalt boulders at the shoreline become extremely slippery when wet. Careful footing and sturdy footwear (or dive boots) are essential.
Low risk: Outgoing tide current
The outgoing tide can produce moderate rip-like currents around the rocky reef gutters.
Low risk: Sharp reef and rock shelves
The basalt rock formations and coral bommies are sharp; fins and boots recommended to avoid cuts.
Low risk: Boat traffic near reef edge
The outer edge of the reef is frequented by small recreational boats; stay aware of your surroundings.
Low risk: Rocky shore entry and exit
Entry and exit can be tricky over slippery, uneven beach rock and rocky terrain — care needed especially in swell.
Low risk: Moderate ocean swell
Swell can pick up along this exposed coastline, creating surge around the reef platforms.
Low risk: Green zone (marine sanctuary) boundary
A protected green zone lies to the left of the rock point. Diving is permitted to the right; straying left may breach no-take regulations.
Low risk: Tidal current influence
Entry and exit are significantly easier at mid-tide. Low tide exposes more rocky terrain and high tide can reduce the exit platform.
Low risk: Olive sea snakes
Olive sea snakes are occasionally encountered foraging among the coral bommies. They are venomous but generally non-aggressive; maintain a respectful distance.
