The spot

A quieter, less-crowded stretch of white sand just north of the famous Cottesloe Beach, North Cottesloe offers superb snorkelling over limestone reef platforms and around the Eco Shark Barrier and groyne, which are installed from October to March each year. The protected waters of nearby Peter's Pool provide a calm, family-friendly entry point where snorkellers can spot schooling fish, shellfish, crustaceans, and the elusive weedy seadragon. With grassy lawns, old shady trees, and a relaxed vibe, it's a favourite local escape with cafés and facilities nearby.
