Tucked between Robe and Beachport, Nora Creina Bay is a near-perfect horseshoe of powder-white sand and reef, sheltered by low limestone headlands. Named after the brigantine ship that struck its reef in 1858, this uncrowded gem offers crystal-clear turquoise waters that are ideal for snorkeling around the pitted limestone formations. The bay's calm inner waters give way to rugged outer reefs dotted with small caves and crevices teeming with marine life. Backed by a tiny settlement of family-held beach shacks with zero commercial development, it's a pristine slice of the Limestone Coast that rewards those who make the gravel drive.

Know before you go

Logged by the community, confirmed by mods

  • Moderate risk: Southern Ocean Swells

Unpredictable swell and wave action from the Southern Ocean can create strong surge conditions around the outer reef areas.

  • Moderate risk: Remote Location

No shops, facilities or phone reception nearby. Help is a long way away if you get into trouble.

  • Moderate risk: Southern Ocean Swell

Exposed to Southern Ocean swell; conditions can change rapidly with strong surf on windy days.

  • Low risk: Sharp Limestone Reef

The bay is flanked by jagged, pitted limestone outcrops with sharp edges that can cause cuts and scrapes when snorkeling near the rocks.

  • Low risk: March Flies

Aggressive biting flies are abundant in warmer months, particularly near the beach and vegetation, making insect repellent essential.

  • Low risk: Vehicle Traffic on Beach

The beach is used as a vehicle access track and boat-launching area; be alert for 4WDs and trailered boats.

  • Low risk: Rocks and Reef

Sharp calcarenite rock platforms and submerged reef hazards near the headlands; wear reef shoes and watch your footing.
