Mushroom Rock, situated within the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park near Point Peron, is one of Rockingham's premier snorkelling destinations. This remarkable limestone formation has been sculpted by centuries of wave action into captivating overhangs, small caves, and swim-throughs that create an underwater playground just metres from shore. The crystal-clear, shallow waters are well-sheltered, offering excellent visibility and a safe environment for snorkellers of all levels. Located within Perth's stunning coastal backyard, the site sits among lush seagrass meadows teeming with marine activity, making it a must-visit spot for anyone exploring the marine parks south of Perth.

Mushroom Rock is located at Point Peron in Rockingham, approximately 45 minutes south of Perth. Follow Rockingham Beach Road to Point Peron Road, then continue to the Point Peron carpark. The snorkelling site is a short walk from the carpark along the limestone headland.

Parking & facilities

Point Peron carpark provides free parking. Arrive early on weekends and summer holidays as the lot fills quickly.
