Mornington Beach sits on the calm, sheltered shores of Port Phillip Bay on the Mornington Peninsula, offering clear, shallow waters ideal for first-time snorkellers and families. The sandy beach slopes gently into the bay, with rocky edges near Schnapper Point and the pier pylons that attract colourful sponges, schooling fish, and the occasional octopus. Just a short drive from Melbourne, this is one of the most accessible snorkel spots in Victoria — a safe, protected environment where you can float weightlessly above a surprisingly vibrant underwater world.
