Stretching almost 20 km along the Coral Sea north of Bundaberg, Moore Park Beach offers a sweeping golden shoreline backed by coastal parklands. The southern end is the primary swimming and snorkeling area, with seasonal lifeguard patrols by the Moore Park Surf Lifesaving Club. The beach is a significant summer nesting site for loggerhead sea turtles. Snorkelers can explore the shallow nearshore waters, though the beach lacks a fringing reef — the snorkeling experience here is more about sandy-bottom marine life and the occasional rocky patch. With 20 km of uninterrupted sand, the northern end allows four-wheel driving, so visitors should stay south for a calm beach day.

Moderate risk: Rip currents
Surf conditions can produce variable rips, especially on the open beach. Swim between the flags when patrols are active.
Moderate risk: Stingers and marine stingers
Marine stingers (including box jellyfish) may be present in warmer months. Wear a stinger suit and check local warnings.
Low risk: Four-wheel drive vehicles
The northern end of the beach is open to 4WD traffic. Stay well clear of vehicle zones when swimming or snorkeling.
Low risk: Beach erosion
Significant erosion has created unstable ground near the foreshore and surf club area, with drop-offs and undercut sand.
