Monkey Mia, on the eastern shore of Shark Bay's Peron Peninsula, offers exceptionally calm, shallow turquoise waters protected by the bay's unique geography — a World Heritage-listed environment where red desert dunes meet crystalline sea. The snorkeling areas fringe white sandy beaches and seagrass beds that host an incredible array of wildlife: dolphins famously visit the shallows daily, while dugongs, rays, turtles, and diverse fish species cruise the clear waters. The sheltered conditions make it ideal for relaxed, family-friendly snorkeling close to shore, with the stunning contrast of rust-coloured dunes and emerald water creating an unforgettable backdrop.
