Mills Reef is a distinctive T-shaped reef stretching 100 metres out from the sandy shore between Killarney and Port Fairy on Victoria's Shipwreck Coast. A submerged rock shelf covered in weed growth leads to a spectacular 10–15 metre vertical wall 50 metres further out, dropping to a sandy bottom at 20 metres. This natural reef system is rich with fish and invertebrate life, making it a rewarding snorkel site for those who time the calm conditions right. Best accessed by boat or by a careful shore entry when swell is minimal.

Moderate risk: Moderate to high swell
Requires very calm conditions and low swell; rough seas make shore entry dangerous.
Moderate risk: Offshore drop-off / vertical wall
A sudden 10–15 metre drop wall 50 metres offshore presents a hazard for inexperienced snorkelers transitioning from reef to deep water.
Low risk: Thick weed growth on entry
Dense weed on the submerged rock shelf makes shore entry a 'bit of a chore' and can be slippery and disorienting.
Low risk: Boat traffic
Reef is best reached by boat; snorkelers need to be aware of vessels in the area.
