Albany's most popular beach, Middleton Beach is a sweeping 4.5 km stretch of white sand on the calm shores of King George Sound. Sheltered by Michaelmas and Breaksea Islands, its crystal-clear waters are ideal for snorkelling around the shark-proof net and Ellen Cove. The scenic Ellen Cove Boardwalk offers stunning coastal views, and Southern Right and Humpback whales can be spotted offshore during migration season (June–October).
