Malanda Falls Swimming Pool is a heritage-listed, man-made swimming enclosure built into the plunge pool of the 4-metre-high, 30-metre-wide Malanda Falls on the North Johnstone River. Nestled in dense rainforest within the Atherton Tablelands, the cool, fresh water tumbles over ancient basalt lava flows, creating a wide, safe swimming area with a small beach and shallow paddling zones. The surrounding parklands offer grassy terraces, picnic and barbecue spots, two easy rainforest walking trails, and a visitor centre, making it a beloved family-friendly freshwater swimming and snorkelling destination in North QLD.
