Stretching for roughly 1 km along the Lonsdale side of Port Phillip Heads, Lonsdale Wall is a spectacular underwater escarpment that forms part of the Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park. This dramatic wall drops from around 12 m to 18 m depth, adorned with colourful sponges, ascidians, gorgonian fans, sea tulips, and hydroids that cling to sheer overhangs and rocky ledges. Strong tidal flows through The Heads make this an exhilarating drift environment, rewarding experienced snorkelers and divers with constant action and vibrant invertebrate life.
