Little Douglas is a secluded beach destination on the Lower Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, characterised by expansive sand flats that stretch up to 1 km offshore. A tidal channel through the bay provides deeper water access for boating, while the surrounding seagrass meadows and rocky intertidal reefs just offshore offer prime shallow snorkeling terrain. Its remote, wild setting along the Thorny Passage marine park boundary makes it a peaceful alternative to busier spots, with excellent opportunities to explore the calm, protected inshore waters at higher tides.

Moderate risk: Tidal channel currents
The tidal channel into Little Douglas bay can generate strong moving water during incoming and outgoing tides, particularly around the channel entrance.
Low risk: Wide tidal flats
Sand flats extend up to 1 km offshore, meaning water depth recedes dramatically at low tide and can leave snorkelers stranded far from shore.
Low risk: Remote location
Limited services and mobile reception in the area; self-reliance is essential and emergency assistance may be delayed.
