The spot

Community-maintained

Community contribution: submitted by Daniel

Tucked inside Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve, 35 km east of Albany, Little Beach dazzles with squeaky-white sand and brilliant turquoise waters sheltered by a granite headland. The beach faces north-east, offering stunning views across the bay toward Mt Manypeaks. A staircase descends from the car park to the northern end, and a short walk leads to a giant solitary boulder where waves crash dramatically. The surrounding Two Peoples Bay Heritage Trail winds through pristine coastal heath, while Waterfall Beach lies just over the southern headland. This is one of the south-west coast's most beautiful and photogenic swimming and snorkeling spots.

Know before you go

Logged by the community, confirmed by mods

  • Moderate risk: Large/King Waves

Unpredictable large 'king' waves can crash against the granite rocks, especially on the southern side. Watch the waterline on the sand, not the waves themselves.

  • Moderate risk: Strong Currents

Strong currents can develop when conditions are rough, making swimming and snorkeling hazardous outside of calm summer days.

  • Moderate risk: King Waves / Rogue Waves

Large, deceptive waves can crash dramatically against the rocks and boulder at the centre of the beach. Watch the waterline on the sand rather than the waves themselves.

  • Low risk: No Shade

The beach has no natural shade, increasing risk of sunburn and heat exhaustion. Bring sun protection and plenty of water.

  • Low risk: Remote Location & Limited Signal

Very poor mobile phone reception on the beach and a long distance from Albany (35 km). Any mishap requires self-sufficiency or a long trip back to town.

  • Low risk: Slippery Rocks

Granite outcrops and headland rocks can be slippery, especially when wet or at the water's edge.

  • Low risk: Strong Surf Conditions

Large waves can roll in despite the sheltered position, creating strong surge near the shore during swells.
