Situated off Whalers Bluff Lighthouse at the northern end of Nun's Beach near Portland, Victoria, Lighthouse Reef offers both shore and boat access to a shallow (1–4 m) limestone reef. The site is the resting place of the New Zealander, a coal ship scuttled in 1953, whose scattered wreck parts are still visible among the reef. Clear, calm conditions and excellent visibility on sunny days make this a stunning dive and snorkel spot, with abundant temperate sea life populating the reef and wreck structure. A short beach walk from Nun's Beach leads to the sheltered entry point.
