Letitia Spit is a wild 3.3 km barrier beach stretching south from the Tweed River entrance to the volcanic headland of Fingal Head. Snorkeling here means exploring the protected inshore waters along the Tweed's eastern training wall and rock seawall, where you can encounter green sea turtles and rays in calm conditions. The spot sits just south of Point Danger and the world-famous Superbank, but offers a quieter alternative with its unique engineered sand bypass system pumping sand beneath the river. Clear water and easy shore access from the beach make it a local favourite for a relaxed in-water experience away from the crowds.
