Tucked 20 km southeast of Ceduna on the isolated west coast of Eyre Peninsula, Laura Bay Conservation Park shelters a pristine sandy cove fringed by mangroves and tidal samphire flats. The calm, shallow waters of the bay offer gentle swimming and snorkelling conditions, while the rocky headland and tidal rock pools reveal a quiet marine world. Originally a 1911 grain-loading site, the park preserves a remnant of the original coastal vegetation that once swept across SA's western shoreline, making it a beautiful, off-the-beaten-track spot for a peaceful dip.

Moderate risk: Catastrophic fire danger closures
The park is closed on days of Catastrophic Fire Danger and may close on Extreme Fire Danger days during the summer bushfire season (Dec-Feb).
Low risk: Tidal flats and mangroves
Extensive tidal samphire flats and mangrove areas are exposed at low tide, making water access limited to high tide. Getting caught on mudflats at low tide can be hazardous.
Low risk: Remote location - limited facilities
Very limited facilities in the park. Visitors must carry sufficient water, food and supplies. Mobile phone reception may be unreliable.
Low risk: Unsealed access road
Access via Decres Bay Road is unsealed, which may become difficult after rain or in poor conditions.
