Kitty Miller Bay is a picturesque, circular bay on Phillip Island's southwest coast, featuring a dramatic 500-metre-long beach backed by rugged cliffs. Its expansive rock platform, fully exposed at low tide, reveals a wonderland of tidal rockpools perfect for snorkelling and exploration. The same platform creates gentle waves for surfers on higher tides. The bay is also home to the historic SS Speke shipwreck, visible near the eastern headland — a fascinating underwater relic for adventurous snorkelers to discover.

  • Moderate risk: Strong rips and currents

Kitty Miller Bay has strong rips and currents, especially near the rock platform drop-off. Not patrolled by lifeguards.

  • Low risk: Slippery rock platform

The large rock platform at low tide is extremely slippery with algae, posing a slip risk.

  • Low risk: Sudden depth drop-off near platform edge

Snorkelers swimming out from the beach to the rocky reef edges may encounter sudden depth changes and wave surges.
