Kings Beach is a beautifully secluded stretch of sand at Cape Edgecumbe, just north of Bowen in the Whitsundays region of the Great Barrier Reef. Fringed by granite boulders and calm turquoise waters, this beach offers direct shore-entry snorkeling onto a fringing coral reef teeming with hard corals like staghorn, plate, and lettuce coral. The beach's sheltered north-easterly aspect makes it ideal for calm-conditions snorkeling, and its proximity to the Cape Edgecumbe Walking Trail provides stunning coastal scenery above and below the water.

Moderate risk: Stinger season (marine stingers)
Stinging jellyfish, including box jellyfish and Irukandji, may be present in warmer months (October to May).
Low risk: Tidal exposure at low tide
Snorkeling conditions are best at high tide; low tide exposes shallow reef areas and reduces access to the coral gardens.
Low risk: Sharp coral and rocks
Sharp coral and rocky granite boulders near the shore entry points can cause cuts.
