Killiecrankie Beach is a stunning 800 m crescent of white sand on the north coast of Flinders Island, Tasmania, sheltered by Nobby Rock at its western end. The low-gradient, north-facing bay offers calm, crystal-clear waters ideal for swimming and snorkelling, particularly in the western corner where waves are minimal. Offshore rock reefs and seagrass beds just 100 m from shore provide a rich temperate marine habitat to explore. The beach is also famous for "Killiecrankie Diamonds" — topaz crystals fossicked from nearby Diamond Gully — and serves as a launch point for small boats, with fishing boats often moored just off the beach.

Moderate risk: Rips near river mouth
Strong rips and tidal flows can develop at nearby North East River estuary, which may affect swimmers and snorkellers.
Low risk: Incoming tide currents at creek mouth
Tidal currents strengthen near Killiecrankie Creek mouth at the eastern end, especially during incoming tide.
Low risk: Outgoing tide current
Tidal flow can strengthen as the tide ebbs out of the inlet, creating a moderate current near the channel between the island and shore.
Low risk: Rip currents at river mouth
The nearby North East River mouth can develop strong rips on the outgoing tide, primarily affecting the river area but with potential for swells wrapping into the bay.
