Tucked on the north side of Kiama's iconic Blowhole Point, this natural ocean rock pool (roughly 29m by 20m) offers a sheltered saltwater swimming and snorkeling haven with a natural rock floor. Originally used as a men's bathing area in the 1880s, it sits dramatically at the ocean's edge with sweeping views over Bombo Beach, the lighthouse, and the coastline south. The pool never feels crowded thanks to its generous size, and its rocky platform provides perfect sunbaking spots between dips. Calm conditions bring spectacular underwater visibility for spotting crabs and sea stars among the boulders.

Moderate risk: Wave overtopping at high tide
On high tide with a big swell, waves can wash over the pool edge from the south side and spray over the back rocks, posing a risk of being knocked against sharp rocks.
Moderate risk: Strong swell conditions
During stormy days or big swells, large waves can surge into the pool, creating hazardous conditions — particularly for children who may be swept into sharp rocks.
Low risk: Uneven rocky floor
The pool has a natural, uneven rock floor with no lane markings. Swimming shoes are recommended to protect feet from sharp edges.
