Jew Shoal is a large reef complex in Noosa's Laguna Bay, reachable by a short boat trip along the Noosa River. This underwater playground of ridges, canyons, bommies, and an 11-metre pinnacle features two main sites: 'The Pin' (7–16 m) and 'The Caves' (12–17 m) with rugged rock outcrops and swim-throughs. The shallow reef top sits just 3–5 m below the surface, making it ideal for snorkelers. Colourful hard and soft corals blanket the gutters, while ledges, walls, and crevices teem with baitfish, nudibranchs, and over 100 varieties of sea stars and feather stars.

Moderate risk: Seasonal marine stingers
Box jellyfish and other stingers may be present in Queensland waters during the warmer months (November to April).
Low risk: Boat traffic
Jew Shoal is accessed by boat and lies in a busy boating area with dive and fishing charters operating regularly. Snorkelers must remain vigilant and surface with care.
Low risk: Strong currents and tidal flow
Laguna Bay can experience moderate tidal currents that sweep across the reef, particularly around 'The Pin' and swim-throughs at 'The Caves'.
Low risk: Deeper drop-offs
The reef drops from shallow snorkeling depth (3–5 m) to 16–17 m at the deeper sites. Snorkelers should stay aware of depth changes and avoid venturing beyond their comfort zone.
