Jervoise Bay (also known as Jervoise Bay Cove) is a sheltered, sandy-bottomed bay on Perth's Cockburn Sound, easily entered from the shore beside the groin near the Cockburn Power Boat Club. The rocky groin structure is the focal point — it attracts schooling fish, soft corals, and offers depths to 10 m within metres of shore. The bay's protected waters make it a reliable fallback when other sites are windy, with good visibility after calm weather. A popular shore-entry spot for both snorkellers and divers seeking accessible underwater terrain.

Moderate risk: Outgoing tidal current
The main hazard is a strong tidal current that can run along the groin, especially on an outgoing tide. Snorkellers should avoid the deeper, far end of the groin during peak flow.
Moderate risk: Boat traffic
Boat traffic from the Cockburn Power Boat Club and moored vessels transiting the channel near the groin. Snorkellers must stay aware and avoid the channel markers.
Low risk: Limited visibility after weather
Visibility can drop significantly after storms or strong northerly winds due to sediment stirred up in the shallow Sound.
Low risk: Boat traffic near jetty
Woodman Point has an active boat ramp and jetty; boat traffic can occur near the snorkelling area, especially on weekends.
Low risk: Variable visibility
Snorkelling conditions change daily; wind and tidal movement can stir up sand, reducing visibility in the shallow bay.
