Stretching 2.5 km from Iluka Bluff to the northern Clarence River entrance wall, this wide surf beach on the NSW North Coast offers excellent snorkeling in its calmer southern end near the Bluff. The beach is backed by the lush Iluka Nature Reserve, a World Heritage-listed rainforest. When conditions are flat, the clear inshore waters reveal sandy-bottom habitat and the rocky reef at the bluff end attracts small fish. It's a favourite local spot for surfing, swimming, bodyboarding, and snorkeling, with stunning coastal views from Iluka Bluff lookout.
