Tucked behind the Samson Beach Tavern in Point Samson, Honeymoon Cove is a sheltered 150 m pocket of white sand framed by rugged red cliffs. Protected from the elements, the cove offers excellent snorkeling over a strip of colourful coral reef that runs the length of the beach at low tide. Easy 2WD access, warm year-round waters, and shallow conditions make this one of the Pilbara's most user-friendly snorkeling spots, with abundant tropical fish, turtles, rays, and the chance to spot octopus in the rock pools.

Moderate risk: Stinger Season
Box jellyfish and other stingers may be present in tropical Pilbara waters during the warmer months.
Low risk: Low Tide Reef Exposure
The reef strip is shallow and best snorkeled at mid-to-high tide; at low tide coral can be very close to the surface, posing a scraping risk.
Low risk: Rocky Reef Scrapes
Sharp coral and rock edges along the reef line can cause cuts — reef shoes recommended.
Low risk: Windy Day Conditions
Wind can reduce water visibility in this otherwise protected cove; best on calm days.
