Helen Rock (aka Helens Rock) is a magnificent submerged granite pinnacle rising from 20m depth to just 2m below the surface, located about 1 km offshore from Tower Hill in Armstrongs Bay on Victoria's Shipwreck Coast. This spectacular dive and snorkel site is swathed in vibrantly coloured soft corals, gorgonians and sponges, and is always surrounded by pelagic fish like Kingfish, Yellowtail and Trevally. A true photographer's paradise, the rock sits offshore between Warrnambool and Port Fairy, offering a wild, exposed encounter with Victoria's rugged southern ocean marine life. Access is by boat only, requiring calm conditions with minimal swell.

Getting in
Located approximately 1 km offshore from Tower Hill, in Armstrongs Bay, between Warrnambool (east) and Killarney/Port Fairy (west), about 270 km west of Melbourne on Victoria's Shipwreck Coast. The site is reached by boat from the Port Fairy - Griffiths St Boat Ramp, or alternatively from the Killarney Bay Ramp, Killarney Bay East Ramp, or Warrnambool (Lady Bay) boat ramp.
Parking is available at the boat ramps: Griffiths Street, Port Fairy; Killarney Bay; and Lady Bay, Warrnambool.
No fees for snorkeling, but boat launching fees may apply at some ramps.
