Hastings Pier (also known as Hastings Jetty) extends into the calm, protected waters of Western Port on the Mornington Peninsula. Built originally for the fishing and oyster trade, this wooden pier offers easy shore-entry snorkelling in depths of 3–5 metres among the jetty pylons. The historic 1866 fishing shed at the shore end and the nearby Red Bird shipwreck (280 m east) add character. The protected crescent bay shields the site from prevailing winds, making it a reliable year-round spot for underwater exploration.
