Hamelin Bay Beach is a stunning stretch of white sand and turquoise water nestled on Western Australia's southwest coast between Cape Leeuwin and Cape Naturaliste. Sheltered from prevailing winds, the calm, clear waters make it ideal for swimming and snorkelling. The bay is famous for its resident wild stingrays that glide through the shallows, often approaching waders at the shore. Beyond the beach, divers can explore a nearby shipwreck, and the Cape to Cape Walk Track runs right along the coast. With a caravan park, boat ramp, and easy shore access, it's a quintessential South West escape.

Low risk: Stingray encounters
Wild stingrays frequent the shallows and may swim over feet. They can sting if startled — shuffle your feet when wading.
Low risk: Strong afternoon sea breezes
Afternoon onshore winds can whip up chop and reduce visibility for snorkellers, especially in summer months.
Low risk: Boat traffic near boat ramp
The boat ramp area has launching and retrieving vessels; snorkellers should stay clear of the ramp channel.
Low risk: Rip currents at creek mouth
Seasonal creek flows across the beach can create shallow rip currents near the southern end of the bay.
