Greta's Reef is an offshore rocky reef located about 2 nautical miles southeast of the Gold Coast Seaway, consisting of a series of boulders separated by sandy patches in 16–23 m of water. Named after a diver named Greta some 20 years ago, this site is a true nudibranch haven and offers encounters with resident turtles, wobbegong sharks, rays, moray eels, octopus, and large schools of baitfish. Dolphin encounters are common as they feed on the reef. While primarily a dive site due to depth, it offers exceptional snorkelling conditions on calm days with better visibility than inside the seaway and minimal current.
