Gregories is a remote, wild snorkeling spot within Francois Peron National Park at the southern tip of the Peron Peninsula in Shark Bay. At high tide, a shallow coral wall just offshore in 2-3 metres of water becomes accessible for a fantastic drift snorkel. The nutrient-rich Shark Bay waters attract dugongs, manta rays, turtles, and sharks, while the red sand cliffs and turquoise shallows create a stunning contrast. Accessible only via 4WD, this is a true off-the-beaten-path gem for adventurous snorkelers seeking pristine, uncrowded reef exploration.

Moderate risk: Remote location
Gregories is in a remote national park with limited cell reception and emergency services; a 4WD is essential and self-sufficiency is required.
Low risk: Tidal currents
The shallow coral wall is best accessed at high tide; outgoing tidal currents can be strong and a drift snorkel requires awareness of tide timing.
Low risk: Cool winter water temperatures
Despite the warm Leeuwin Current influence, water temperatures in winter can be quite cool, requiring a wetsuit for comfort.
Low risk: Marine stingers
Shark Bay waters can host marine stingers; caution advised year-round.
