Green Point is a scenic coastal headland at Angourie on the North Coast of NSW, where grassy bluffs overlook a protected rocky shoreline and sandy beach. The reef-fringed edges and clear temperate waters offer excellent snorkelling around rock platforms teeming with fish, squid, and octopus. Known locally as a prime whale-watching and dolphin-spotting vantage point, the underwater terrain features seagrass beds, rocky crevices, and shallow gutters that harbour diverse marine life. The calm conditions inside the point often provide clearer water than the open beaches, making it a rewarding spot for intermediate snorkellers exploring north from Yamba.

Moderate risk: Rip currents adjacent to reef
Rip currents can develop alongside the rocky shoreline, especially on pushing tides, which may carry unwary snorkellers out from the sheltered edges.
Low risk: Swell surge around the point
Moderate to large southerly swells wrap around the headland, creating surging conditions over the rock platforms that can push snorkellers against rocks if not careful.
Low risk: Rock platform sharp edges
Exposed and submerged rock platforms with barnacle-encrusted edges pose a cutting hazard when entering or exiting the water, particularly in swell.
