The spot

Community-maintained

Community contribution: submitted by Daniel

Tucked within Booderee National Park on Jervis Bay's northern shore, Green Patch is a sheltered cove of powdery white sand and crystalline turquoise water backed by coastal forest. A rustic footbridge crosses the tannin-stained Green Patch Lagoon (fed by Telegraph Creek) leading to one of the South Coast's safest, most family-friendly snorkel sites. The calm, gently lapping waters are ideal for beginners, while the rocky platforms to the east reward explorers with octopus, squid, and abundant reef fish among lush seagrass beds. Kangaroos graze the grassy picnic areas, and the on-site campground lets you wake up steps from this island-like paradise.
