Golden Beach sits along Victoria's magnificent Ninety Mile Beach, within the Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park. This quiet seaside community offers an uninterrupted stretch of golden sand meeting the waters of Bass Strait. The beach is renowned for its long sweeping shoreline, excellent for swimming, surf fishing, and beachcombing. The adjacent Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park protects diverse coastal habitats, with wildlife often spotted at dawn and dusk. Snorkelers will find the clear surf conditions best on calm days, with opportunities to spot shells, corals, and small marine life in the shallows.

Moderate risk: Rip currents
Strong rip currents can develop along Ninety Mile Beach, especially during larger surf. Swim between the flags when patrols are active.
Low risk: Strong surf conditions
Southern Ocean swells can create powerful surf conditions, particularly from autumn through spring, making snorkeling challenging.
Low risk: Shifting sandbars
Dynamic sandbars and gutters form along this exposed coastline, altering beach topography and water depth unpredictably.
Low risk: Wildlife hazards
Ground shooting operations targeting deer occur within Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park. The park remains open but visitors should be aware.
