Flaherty Beach — also known as Flaherty's Beach — is a stunning stretch of white sand on the upper western coast of Yorke Peninsula, between Hardwicke Bay and Point Turton. Its crystal-clear, turquoise waters and expansive sandbars extending hundreds of metres offshore create a shallow, lagoon-like environment that feels more tropical than South Australia. Named the 4th best beach in Australia by Tourism Australia in 2022, its calm, protected conditions make it an exceptional spot for families and snorkelers alike. Access is via a boardwalk over dunes from a dirt carpark, and 4WD vehicles can drive onto the beach.
