Five Fingers Reef sits about 4.5 km south of Coral Bay on the Ningaloo Coast, named for its five distinct limestone fingers that run perpendicular from the beach up to 200 m offshore. This shallow (1–3 m) fringing coral reef system offers exceptional shore-entry snorkelling in sheltered, crystal-clear water. Drift between the rocky spurs—each hosting bommies alive with coral bommies—and spot turtles, reef sharks, and dazzling fish schools. The isolation keeps crowds thin, rewarding early birds with a wild, unspoilt Ningaloo experience.

Moderate risk: Isolated location
Limited mobile reception and no lifeguards; always snorkel with a buddy.
Low risk: Soft sand access track
The beach access track requires a 4WD with deflated tyres; 2WD vehicles risk getting bogged.
Low risk: Heat exposure on walk
The 3 km walk from the boat ramp has limited shade; carry plenty of water.
Low risk: Seaweed / chop at shoreline
A narrow band of seaweed and occasional chop near the beach can reduce visibility before the water clears further out.
