Tucked away at the start of the Point Possession Heritage Trail on the Vancouver Peninsula, Fishermans Beach is a sheltered, secluded cove with calm, crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkeling and swimming. Accessed via a short walk from the trailhead car park off Quaranup Road, this hidden gem offers a quiet alternative to Albany's busier beaches, with stunning coastal views across Whalers Cove and the surrounding granite headlands. Its protected position means gentle conditions ideal for novice snorkelers exploring the shallow rocky edges.

Low risk: Rocks and reef edges
Shallow rocky areas near the shoreline and at the edges of the cove can be sharp. Wear booties or fins and watch your footing when entering the water.
Low risk: Wind chop on exposed days
Though sheltered from south-westerlies, strong easterly winds can stir up surface chop reducing visibility and creating minor swells.
Low risk: Cold water temperatures
Southern Ocean waters remain cold year-round, especially between May and November. A wetsuit (3-5mm) is strongly recommended for comfort and safety.
