Engine Bay is a secluded, sheltered cove tucked inside Lincoln National Park on the Eyre Peninsula. Accessed via a scenic loop walk (or 4WD track), this rocky-granite bay offers calm, protected waters ideal for snorkeling among intertidal rock pools and seagrass beds. The shoreline is characterised by sculpted granite boulders and patches of white sand, with the park's coastal heathland behind. It's a quiet, uncrowded escape — campers at the basic Engine Bay campground have this spot almost to themselves.

Low risk: 4WD track access
The unsealed road to Engine Bay requires a 4WD vehicle, especially after rain when sections can become soft or rutted.
Low risk: Rocks and submerged boulders
Granite boulders near the shoreline can be slippery and pose a minor hazard when entering or exiting the water.
Low risk: Swell surge in winter
During winter months (June–August), southern ocean swells can push into the bay creating occasional surge conditions near the rocks.
