East Shelley Beach is the quieter eastern half of Shelley Beach in the coastal town of Orford, on Tasmania's stunning east coast. This north-east facing beach is sheltered from prevailing swells, offering gentle clear waters perfect for snorkeling over shallow sandy bottoms interspersed with rocky reef patches. The beach is split from its western counterpart by a rocky outcrop, creating a calm, family-friendly snorkeling zone. The waters here are part of the Prosser Bay area, with views out toward Maria Island in the distance, and a popular 2 km clifftop walking track connects East Shelly Beach to Spring Beach.
