East Point Aquatic Reserve hugs the foreshore of Darwin's beloved 200-hectare East Point Reserve, just minutes from the city centre. The protected waters here offer calm, clear conditions ideal for snorkeling, with a shallow sandy seabed dotted with rocky outcrops that attract small reef fish and marine life. The fringing reef along the peninsula provides an accessible underwater playground, while the adjacent monsoon rainforest and coastal walking trails make this a spectacular setting. The area is part of a designated aquatic reserve, protecting the marine biodiversity that thrives in Darwin Harbour's warm tropical waters. Snorkelers can explore the rocky shoreline near Dudley Point, where WWII-era boom net relics still rest on the seafloor, adding a fascinating historical dimension to the experience.
