Tucked away on the Camden Haven River side of Dunbogan, this sheltered tidal enclosure offers a safe, netted swimming spot for families and snorkellers. The pool sits near Pilot Beach's northern breakwall, with calm, clear waters fed by the river's tidal flow. Surrounded by shady trees, picnic tables and a playground, it's a tranquil alternative to open ocean swimming. The shallow waters are ideal for introducing kids to snorkelling, with the chance to spot small fish, crabs and the occasional dolphin cruising past in the adjacent river channel.

Moderate risk: Tidal flooding at incoming tide
Rock pools can be rapidly submerged as the tide comes in, potentially stranding snorkelers on the rock platform.
Low risk: Low tide shallowness
At low tide the pool can become very shallow, limiting swimming and snorkelling depth.
Low risk: Tidal current near breakwall
Water exchanges through the netting and around the breakwall structure; care needed when entering/exiting near the rocks.
Low risk: Slippery rocks
The breakwall and natural rock surrounds can be slippery, especially when wet.
Low risk: Tidal changes
Water level and clarity vary significantly with the tide. Best snorkeled at high tide when the pool is full and clear.
Low risk: Slippery rock platform
The rock surfaces around the pools can be extremely slippery when wet, especially where seaweed or algae is present.
Low risk: Sharp rocks and barnacles
Exposed rocks, barnacles, and oyster shells on the platform can cause cuts and abrasions to bare feet.
