Drummonds Cove Beach, located just north of Geraldton in Western Australia, is a sheltered 1.3 km curving beach protected by a chain of patchy nearshore reefs. The low-energy waters and rocky outcrops create an excellent snorkeling environment, particularly for beginners and families. The patch reef system just offshore teems with friendly fish, and local reports note crayfish, stingrays, and colourful reef fish making regular appearances. With calm conditions and easy shore access, this gem of the Batavia Coast offers a relaxing underwater playground without the crowds.

Low risk: Boat traffic
Drummond Cove is a popular launching area for fishing boats and jet skis, so be vigilant near the boat ramp and channel.
Low risk: Shallow reef patches
Rocky limestone outcrops and reef patches close to shore can cause cuts and scrapes if stepped on or bumped.
Low risk: Patch reef rocks at low tide
Shallow patch reefs extend from the shore; exposed rocks at low tide can cause cuts and scrapes. Swim at mid-to-high tide for safest entry.
Low risk: Swell and surge on west-facing beach
As a west-facing beach open to the Indian Ocean, occasional swell can create surge conditions around the reef system, especially in winter months.
