Dolphin Point crowns the northern tip of Hayman Island, a private island in the heart of the Whitsundays. The rocky headland overlooks Goat Beach and the translucent turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkellers can explore the small reef flat that fringes the shoreline, where the shallow, sheltered waters reveal a vibrant marine ecosystem. The walk to the point itself is a steep but rewarding trek through native bushland, culminating in sweeping panoramic views across the Coral Sea. This is a serene, off-the-beaten-track spot for those staying on Hayman Island who want to combine a scenic hike with a quiet shore-entry snorkel at mid to high tide.

Low risk: Shallow reef at low tide
The reef flat is best snorkelled at mid to high tide. At low tide the water becomes very shallow, increasing the risk of scraping against coral or rocks.
Low risk: Steep and uneven walking track
The Dolphin Point Track includes steep sections that may be slippery, especially after rain.
