Diggers Camp is a secluded off-grid coastal gem on the NSW North Coast, accessible via a winding unsealed road. Named after a late-1800s gold mine, this quiet beach stretches about 500 metres with a rocky southern headland that creates a protected, calmer swimming and snorkelling nook. The clear inshore waters around the low rock shelf at the southern end offer snorkellers a chance to explore shallow reef habitat. With no shops, streetlights, or powerlines, Diggers Camp delivers a wonderfully wild, untouched beach experience.

Moderate risk: Rip Currents at Northern End
The exposed northern section of Diggers Camp Beach is prone to strong rips and is significantly less protected than the southern end.
Moderate risk: Isolated Location – No Lifeguards
Diggers Camp is an unpatrolled beach with no lifeguard services. The nearest assistance is in Minnie Water or Wooli. Snorkellers must be self-reliant.
Low risk: Sweeping Surf Conditions
Large swells can produce powerful sweep along the beach, especially at higher tides, making swimming hazardous outside the southern sheltered nook.
Low risk: Sharp Rocks at Southern Headland
The rocky shelf extending seaward at the southern end has sharp edges; care needed when entering and exiting the water for snorkelling.
