High risk: Flash flooding risk
The Bielsdown River can rise suddenly after storms, turning the peaceful swimming hole into a dangerous torrent.
Moderate risk: Strong waterfall current
The sheer force of the 30 m cascade creates powerful turbulence and undertow at the base, especially after heavy rain.
Low risk: Treacherous rocks
Slippery and uneven rocks surround the pool and the trail down, increasing the risk of falls.
Low risk: Cold water temperatures
The water at the base of the falls remains very cold year-round, which can cause cold shock or cramping.
Low risk: Submerged obstacles
Submerged logs and rocks may be hidden beneath the water surface in the pool.
