Moderate risk: Swell and surf conditions
Snorkelling conditions are only favourable when seas are relatively calm and minimal swell; rough conditions can create strong shore break.
Low risk: Rapid depth drop-off
Water depth drops quickly from the shoreline to 7–11 m, which can surprise inexperienced swimmers.
Low risk: Outgoing tide currents
Tidal movement around Point Danger can create currents that sweep snorkelers away from the beach.
