Crocodile Head is a prominent headland on the Beecroft Peninsula, jutting into the aquamarine waters of Jervis Bay on the NSW South Coast. A renowned dive and snorkel site, it features dramatic underwater topography including a reef plateau at 30 metres dropping sharply into the Crocodile Head Gorge — a narrow chasm that plunges to over 50 metres. The rocky walls are blanketed with spectacular fixed marine life: colourful sponges, sea whips, sea tulips, gorgonians, and ascidians. Several shallow caves near the headland offer sheltered exploring for snorkellers, while the deeper reef draws more experienced adventurers. Part of the Beecroft Weapons Range area, access is often limited to weekends and public holidays.
