Crawfish Rock is a submerged rocky reef dive site in Western Port, Mornington Peninsula, lying roughly 1.5 km north of Scrub Point. This low-relief reef rises from the sandy floor of the main tidal channel and hosts a benthic fauna with deep-water Bass Strait affinities. Its name hints at the southern rock lobsters (crayfish) that shelter among boulders and ledges. Exposed to strong tidal flows through the narrows, it is a productive temperate reef supporting kelp forests, sponges, and a diversity of reef fish — but only for experienced snorkelers arriving by boat.
